With the beginning of the „Friday for Future“ movement in 2019, its support by „Scientists for Future“ and given the increasing evidence of the impacts of the climate crisis, 2019 might constitute a turning point in international debates and politics.
 
Jacqueline McGlade asks on January 16th whether and how social attitudes are changed by these events or how they might change in the near future.
The focus of her reflections will be on how new evidence about multiple intelligences and the roots of human behaviour challenge the traditional ways in which politics and policy-making is conducted. She takes this thinking into current international biodiversity politics which deals with the pressing issue of the dramatic loss of biodiversity.
